Happy New Year! What Will You Change?

It’s a new day, a new month, a new year and a new decade. What are you going to do with this clean slate you’ve been given?

As I do every quarter, I am participating in the 31 day Ultimate Blog Challenge which is an opportunity to post my thoughts and expand my reach.

In case we have never met, either in person or virtually, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Karen Sammer and I’m a Health and Nutrition Coach. My mission is to make this planet healthy one human being at a time.

One of my primary focuses when working with my clients is to help them release their unhealthy relationship with processed sugar. Processed sugar is nothing but empty calories and does nothing to support your good health.

In fact it’s quite the opposite. Processed sugar causes inflammation which is the root of most chronic disease. And many chronic diseases are preventable with a few dietary and lifestyle changes. That’s where I can help.

There is so much conflicting information in the ether that is both confusing and overwhelming that it leads people to just give up.

Remember when fat was the enemy and everything we saw in the grocery store was low fat or even non-fat? That didn’t go so well. We got heavier and diabetes and heart disease rates soared. Do you know why? It happened because the fat, and consequentially the flavor, was removed and replaced with…you guessed it…SUGAR! And lots of it!

And now we know that fat is, in fact, good for us if it’s from the right source(s) and consumed in moderate amounts. Fat is necessary for the healthy function of our brains, our organs, our joints among many other areas of our bodies. We require dietary fat to metabolize many nutrients  we must have for our bodies to  function optimally.

Would you like to have more energy, lose weight, sleep better, and balance your hormones? I am launching a 5 week Sugar Detox Program beginning January 7th.

This program is open to anyone who:

-would like to get control of their sugar cravings

-feel better

-have an abundance of energy

-and an overall increase in well-being.

Aren’t you tired of feeling bloated and lethargic?

If you continue to follow the path you’re on, where will it lead you in six months? a year? Isn’t it time to take a different approach?

What you have done in the past hasn’t worked or at least has not stuck. I can help you change that. Click here for a free consultation. We’ll discuss your challenges and your goals for the coming year and see if we’re a good fit. You have nothing to lose except those nasty cravings.

As a health coach, I work with women who are facing serious health challenges like heart disease, metabolic syndrome and diabetes or who have been diagnosed as having a precursor to a serious health issue such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or high blood sugar. I help them make food and lifestyle changes so they can get healthy, live longer and enjoy a fuller, happier, more energetic life. If you would like to have a free consultation about the health challenges you have and the improvements you would like to see in your health, click here to schedule a no strings attached call.

I remember when butter was no good… And everyone started to eat margarine… Then WHAM! Margarine was not good for you, so everyone went back to butter.

Same with Eggs… Eggs = Good. Then, Eggs=Bad…

Sigh. It is always changing. Except, no one has ever really said, “Eat sugar! It is good for you!”

Paul…that is so true. No one EVER said we should eat more sugar. I would also go easy on the butter though.
