Live Your Best Life(style)

As we move though the Five Pillars of Success, notice that we’ve said nothing about food yet. That’s because food is one of the least important parts of why your past attempts have not worked or only worked temporarily.

This next pillar is about your lifestyle. What are you doing to keep yourself healthy? Are you exercising? Getting enough sleep? Drinking enough good, clean water? Minimizing your alcohol consumption? Spending enough time with loved ones?

That last part has been a little challenging because of the current pandemic we find ourselves in. But you can, with some imagination, still maintain safe contact with people.

I don’t like the term “social distancing” because it reeks of isolation and loneliness to me. I much prefer to call it “physical distancing”. There are many ways you can be physically distant yet still see each other. Of course, there are situations where that just isn’t possible but for the most part, we can find a way to stay in touch.

So what is a healthy lifestyle?

Does it mean you have to live the life of a monk or a hermit? Of course not. You can do all the things you like to do. There are modifications to behaviors and choices that can make them healthier than what you’re used to. I can help you with those. You don’t have to stop going out with your friends. You don’t have to spend hours in the gym. It’s really about building in healthy habits as part of your every day life. Small incremental changes over time add up and before you know it, you aren’t the same person you were when you started on this journey.

We’ll discuss the other Pillars of Success in the coming posts. If you would like to know what I do in more detail, please feel free to click here to schedule a complimentary call.

In my practice, I work with women who are living with or are at risk for developing heart disease or other chronic illness that can be managed through lifestyle and nutrition changes to prevent or possibly even reverse such conditions.
