Hello hello hello!!! I'm so happy to reconnect or connect as the case may be.
In case we haven't met, my name is Karen Sammer. My business is Your Power Your Health Nutrition and Health Coaching. I know that's a mouthful. It really means that I help people who live with or are at risk for developing chronic illness like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, anything we can manage through lifestyle and nutrition changes. We work to prevent, reduce or even reverse those conditions.
I really want to give you some info that I think you might find helpful. How would you like to know some things you can do right now that will help you start on your path back to good health? These are just a beginning but I think they can help.
Five Steps You Can Take Now To Improve Your Health
1. Drink plenty of water
Water is critical to all systems in your body. When you are dehydrated, your cells don't function properly. You don't have to feel thirsty to be dehydrated. Every day you should try to consume half your body weight in ounces of water.
2. Get plenty of sleep
So many of us are walking around in a chronic state of sleep deprivation. Many people consider it a badge of honor when they think they can function well on less sleep than their body needs. You should be getting between seven and nine hours of sleep per night for optimal rest and restoration.
3. Exercise daily
Exercise doesn't have to be an hours long gym visit. There are many ways to get movement into your day. Play with your kids. Dance around with them. Take the stairs whenever possible. Take a walk with your friends. Ride your bike. It doesn't have to be a chore or something you dread. Rather than think of exercise as just another item on your 'to-do' list, consider it something you get to do for yourself.
4. Take a quality vitamin supplement daily
Our food supply is depleted of many of the nutrients we need to maintain a healthy body. We have exhausted the soil by over-farming and over-fertilizing. Even if you think you are eating a clean and healthy diet, you may not be getting all you need. Taking a high quality supplement will help to support your body.
5. Eat locally grown whenever possible
Eating locally grown food may be even more important than eating organic food. Local organically grown food will provide a double benefit. Eating local food means that what you're getting is probably fresher than what has been shipped around the world to get to you. Eating seasonally available food is a good way to accomplish that.
While this is in no way an exhaustive list of ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it can get you started.

I know the feeling of overwhelm, overtired, stressed out, eating too much, maybe drinking too much. That was me twelve years ago. I was on a downward spiral in my health. Then a bombshell hit me and I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and while in treatment for a year, I took control of my own health. I did my research and put what I found into practice. I lost 135 pounds and took control of my health. While developing my own process of doing that, I decided I wanted to help others do the same.
Don't wait until you're facing a life-threatening crisis to turn your life around and take control of your health. Watch this video to see how took control of my own health and lose the weight once and for all.
