A Little Wayne Dyer Inspiration For a Beautiful Day (and a few others thrown in)

I read a lot of inspirational literature from various people considered “new age” thinkers. That’s code for “woo woo” or “fluff”. I don’t care because it makes me look at things from a more positive perspective and has changed my view of  life and the world.

One of my favorite sources of said inspiration is the late Dr. Wayne Dyer. Much of his belief is rooted in the Tao. The Tao is a philosophy that encourages us to simply accept ourselves and the path of our choosing. Live within our own nature. It’s sort of a ‘go with the flow’ way of life. Following is some of Dr. Dyer’s wisdom.

Our intention creates our reality.

Love this one.

When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.

How true is this???

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

If you look for negativity you’ll find it but if you look for positivity, you’ll find that too. why not choose positivity?

How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.

The only thing you can control is you.

Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.

We never know when we will be taking our final breath. Go for it!

With everything that has happened to you, you can feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.

It’s all about perspective.

You don’t need to be better than anyone else, you just need to be better than you used to be.

Comparison is a fool’s game. The only person you should compare yourself to is the old you.

The more you see yourself as what you’d like to become, and act as if what you want is already there, the more you’ll activate those dormant forces that will collaborate to transform your dream into your reality.

If you can conceive and believe it, you can achieve it. – Napoleon Hill

The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of the state of your mind.

Whether we think we can or we think we can’t, we’re right. – Henry Ford

Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world. Same world.

Whatever you look for in the world, you’ll find. So why not look for love?

Don’t die with your music still in you.

Live every day like it’s your last and make sure every last drop of life is used up.

You will see it when you believe it.

Most of what we achieve is because we believe we can.

My Story

Since June 2019, I decided to hold myself accountable for walking my talk. Several years ago, I was able to take off 135 pounds and essentially save my own life. I regained some of that weight in the last couple of years and I’m working my way back down. I’ve lost over 40 pounds since I began in June and have exercised nearly every day since August.

If you choose to join me on this journey, I hope I am able to impart some nutritional and lifestyle wisdom. Even though I may have gone off the rails temporarily I can still share some of my first hand experience as well as my acquired knowledge and training to help you make the right changes to live your best life.

One of my favorite quotes from Wayne is, “I cannot always control what goes on outside. But I can always control what goes on inside.”

    Thanks for this list!

    Be Well.
    Paul.

Paul…there are so many great Wayne quotes but it’s late and I’m tired. I thought Wayne was a great way to end a beautiful day.

I especially like “You don’t have to be better than anyone. You just have to be better than you used to be.” Life is so much better when I don’t compare myself to others. In my own blog post for the day, I talked about how comparing myself to others caused me to give up my art journey but learning to focus on my own creativity helped to to rediscover that journey. Today, I can be the artist that I was meant to be, and I don’t have to be anyone else.

Aren’t you happy you made the decision to not allow other people’s opinions or accomplishments decide what works for you? I’m glad you decided to live your truth Alice.

You have some great quotes but one of my favorites is “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” I am a positive person and love to spread it around!

That’s such a great way to live Martha. Stay positive…it’s contagious.
