Getting My “Ask” In Gear

Unless you ask, the answer is always no…I’ve heard that more times than I can remember. I also say it a lot, to myself and others. I find myself saying it more to myself now than ever before.

So what do I mean by getting my “ask” in gear? I’m a holistic practitioner, which means I associate with alternative and complementary healthcare professionals. For some time, I was a little hesitant to discuss what I do because…well, I’m not sure why. But that’s no longer the case. I’ll shout it from the rooftops to let people know what I do. I’m loud and proud about it because what I do changes lives. It took me a while to own that but I’m all in now.

And now the “ask”…How can I help you? If you’re a holistic practitioner and we’ve never met, I would love to connect with you to learn about you and your business. Even if we have met, I’d love to reconnect with you. I want to know how I can be of service.

I’ve been challenged this year to meet 20 new people, or reconnect with people I’ve met before, per month for the entire year. That’s a lot of new friends! Here are some of my reasons for accepting this challenge:

  • I like meeting new, like-minded people
  • I can be of service to someone else
  • it’s outside of my comfort zone to connect with people I know nothing about
  • there are so many modalities that I am unfamiliar with
  • I could meet a collaboration partner

There are a lot of “I”s in that list, but it is MY list and they’re MY reasons, so no apologies today.

If you’re a holistic practitioner or even if you’re just interested in finding out what I do, I’d be honored to make your acquaintance. Drop me a comment and let me know you’d like to chat.

Here’s to a huge, expansive, forward-moving 2020 for all.

My Story

Since June 2019, I decided to hold myself accountable for walking my talk. Several years ago, I was able to take off 135 pounds and essentially save my own life. I regained some of that weight in the last couple of years and I’m working my way back down. I’ve lost over 40 pounds since I began in June and have exercised nearly every day since August.

If you choose to join me on this journey, I hope I am able to impart some nutritional and lifestyle wisdom. Even though I may have gone off the rails temporarily I can still share some of my first hand experience as well as my acquired knowledge and training to help you make the right changes to live your best life.

Do You Want Help?

Would you like to have more energy, lose weight, sleep better, and balance your hormones? I am launching a 5 week Sugar Detox Program beginning January 7th.

This program is open to anyone who:

  • would like to get control of their sugar cravings
  • feel better
  • have an abundance of energy
  • and an overall increase in well-being.

Aren’t you tired of feeling bloated and lethargic?

If you continue to follow the path you’re on, where will it lead you in six months? a year? Isn’t it time to take a different approach?

What you have done in the past hasn’t worked or at least has not stuck. I can help you change that. Click here for a free consultation. We’ll discuss your challenges and your goals for the coming year and see if we’re a good fit. You have nothing to lose except those nasty cravings.

As a health coach, I work with women who are facing serious health challenges like heart disease, metabolic syndrome and diabetes or who have been diagnosed as having a precursor to a serious health issue such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or high blood sugar. I help them make food and lifestyle changes so they can get healthy, live longer and enjoy a fuller, happier, more energetic life. If you would like to have a free consultation about the health challenges you have and the improvements you would like to see in your health, click here to schedule a no strings attached call.

That is so true about asking. I usually have the opposite problem — I ask “too much”!! haha I’ll be your new connection – or rather, one of them for the month!

I would love to connect with you Jyll and find out what you do specifically. I really want to know wha it’s like to live in Belize 😉

A good friend of mine who was in marketing always used the phrase, “get your ‘ask’ in gear”. And my favorite phrase is, “if you don’t ask, the answer will always be no”. Seems we have something in common.

Good job on the weight loss. I lost 100lbs abut 20 years ago… added them back on. Then lost 60 lbs in 2017.. added some of them back as well. Once again I’m on another weight loss journey. Weight issues have followed me all my life.

Not to sure I could do a sugar detox. I’d probably end up in an insane asylum without having sugar in my life. LOL. I can cut down, but not remove it completely. Good luck on your journey.

Thanks for your comment and your good wishes Eydie. You know you can do anything you set your mind to do. It’s important that you have the power over the food, not the other way around. Keep pushing forward and if you change your mind about the sugar, you know where to find me.

I often run across the comment ” It is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission and get a no”.
It still comes down to putting your ass in motion.
The corollary may be ” make sure your mind is in gear before putting your mouth in motion”.
    Blog on!

Doug…it’s always sage advice to engage the brain before the mouth. I wish more people lived by that rule 🙂

I am excited about a sugar detox and am hoping to create a post detox diet so that I can sustain what I am sure that I will win in the detox. I am very stubborn and, if I have to do something, I am going to do it. But when it’s over, I go back to my old ways. Also, if you add in a touch of seasonal affective disorder, you got a depressed person who puts food in her mouth so that she feels alive. So my sister got me vitamin D3, which seems to be working!

Bye for now! I look forward to chatting with you!
